Maybelline ColorSensational Ultimatte Lipsticks

I believe Maybelline’s name selection, adding "More…" to all the colors of the lipsticks is actually sounds convincing similarly to the notion 'more is better?!' So, I decided to tackle my anxiety about trying out Maybelline New York's Ultimatte lipsticks. I've always been a fan of Maybelline lipsticks, from their shiny ones to the matte ones, and their vibrant colors are simply irresistible. As a lipstick lover, I can't resist trying them all. So, what's the fuss about 'More'?

The last time I tried Revlon's matte suede ink collection, I was impressed by the intense color but found it a bit drying on my already parched lips. No matter how much I loved them, they just made my lips drier, especially two out of four shades I swatched. So, I decided to explore other brands, and Maybelline has never let me down before. I ended up buying five shades that were the only ones available nearby: More Mauve, More Auburn, More Ruby, More Coffee and More Scarlet. Although I wanted more shades but they are all out every time I visit the store near me. So Let's talk about what we've got.

Aside from their original lipstick design, these slender, elongated tubes are crafted for easy handling, in my opinion, offering a better grip for precise lipstick application. "More" is starting to come into play here... ha ha ha! I appreciate the design and the idea of matching the tube's outer color to that of the lipstick, making it easier to identify and select. Additionally, I'm fond of the gradient black effect at the tube's end, which adds character to the lipstick.

However, for some individuals, the tube's length might pose an issue since it's longer than traditional lipsticks, storage wise. Nevertheless, it creates the illusion of having "more" product, even though this isn't the case. Psychologically, one might perceive it as having more product than a conventional lipstick. Or perhaps it's just my perception!

The name "More" already has me intrigued. It suggests more color, more pigment, more comfort, and longer-lasting wear. But is it really all that it promises to be? Let's dive in and start first lipstick that is More Mauve.

More Muave

More Muave

More Mauve resembles a subtle pink, leaning slightly towards a nude shade. Typically, nude shades don't complement my skin tone, but this one stands out. I'm quite fond of it because it carries a hint of pink and purple undertones, making it a great match for my skin. If I want to intensify the color, I can easily do so with a lip liner. What's remarkable is how creamy it feels with the very first swipe. Unlike other matte lipsticks that can be dry even during swatching, this one is exceptionally creamy and highly pigmented. The slim lipstick design, angular bullet style also makes it perfect for outlining the lips, eliminating the need for a separate lip liner.

More Auburn

More Auburn

More Auburn is like a deep dirty organg-ish, brown which is really a shade that I like besides brown. I already have pigmented lips so I don't like the browns as much but I really love this orange - brown shade as it compliments my skin tone so well. Its perfect for fall season or any occasion. Its a very comfortable formula and its not fully transfer proof, but they won’t move around on your lips or smear outside of your lip line.

More Coffee

More Coffee

More Coffee, as its name suggests, resembles a dark coffee shade lipstick with subtle hints of deep wine or burgundy. I have a strong preference for dark lipsticks because I find that they brighten and enhance my overall complexion. This is purely a matter of personal preference, and I mean no offense to those who love nude shades.

I typically opt for a minimal makeup look in my daily routine, reserving full coverage makeup for special occasions. In such cases, a dark lipstick is my go-to accessory, as it alone adds a radiant touch that makes my face look beautiful. This creamy formula effortlessly glides on and stayed put for a solid six hours, even with coffee sipping, snack munching, and a full lunch - no need for a touch-up.

More Ruby

More Ruby

More Ruby is more like a Red with cool pink undertones. It is a different version of red and it resembles of a dark pink ruby. This is the first time I liked the Non-red ( not truly red) lipstick besides my love for bloody red lipsticks. It reminds me of Nars velvet matte crayon in dragon girl. The More Ruby formula is uniquely comfortable and this time Maybelline has impressed me even more!

More Scarlet

More Scarlet

More Scarlet is a true red, which you know how much I love, is perfect shade as it is timeless classic shade I believe everyone should have. Usually it is worn on special occasions or party but like I said I like yo wear it everyday since it's the only accessory I wear as for makeup. The moisturizing formula is very pigmented and lightweight and comfortable at the same time which is very rare to come by. What More you can ask for! I believe Maybelline’s "More.." motto for this VolorSensational Ultimatte line of lipsticks proved to be true! It truly delivers what it had promised.. "More pigment, More comfort, more lightweight and more long lasting formula" is here to stay! If you are a visual person, you can also watch my video on my youtube channel with live swatches here

In summary, I'm genuinely impressed by the enhanced pigmentation, extended matte finish, prolonged wear, and increased comfort provided by Maybelline's Ultimatte lipsticks. They have quickly become my top choice for on-the-go lip wear. How do you feel about them? Have you had the chance to try them out? Feel free to share your experiences, and I'll be back with another fantastic post soon.
