REVLON COLORSTAY SUEDE INK MATTE LIPSTICK REVIEW

In the digital age, it’s a familiar story. You search for a product on Google, and suddenly, ads for that very product follow you everywhere you go on your apps. One day, Revlon Colorstay Suede Ink lipsticks caught my attention in this way. Despite the initial annoyance, curiosity got the best of me and I ended up buying them. It’s a modern tale of how relentless ads can lead to an unexpected purchase. Well, the companies pay huge amount for the advertising and it’s working!
Since I purchased these lipsticks out of a combination of curiosity and attraction, I’ll be swatching them in this article and provide you my honest thoughts. I got four shades from the Revlon Colorstay Suede Ink collection: Bread Winner, Tunnel Vision, Stir the Pot, and Type A.

While I initially wanted the browns, I decided to start with these pinks and reds. If I like them,I might expand my collection later. I’m a huge fan of lipsticks, especially reds, for several reasons. Firstly, let’s talk about the texture of these Revlon Suede Ink lipsticks; it’s exceptionally matte, striking the perfect balance between matte and satin. It provides a velvety texture that feels comfortable on the lips. You might wonder if it lasts long, and surprisingly, it does. It clings to your lips like those pesky relatives who won’t leave your house, resisting smudging or transferring, unlike other matte lipsticks. With this 8 + hours staying power and no transfer formula, you can enjoy your favorite meals, sip coffee, or share a passionate kiss without worrying about leaving lipstick marks behind.

Another reason I love these lipsticks is their outstanding color payoff. I prefer matte finish lipsticks to be richly pigmented, vivid, and these certainly deliver. Their thick, creamy, velvety, matte finish enhances the colors, leaving no shine, as if they were designed to absorb light to intensify the color while maintaining a matte appearance.

Lastly, the hydrating formula is the third reason. I’d rate these Revlon Colorstay Suede Ink lipsticks 7 out of 10 in terms of hydration. They’re not as hydrating as I’d like them to be, so if you have flaky, chapped lips, it’s best to exfoliate and hydrate before applying. They work best on well-hydrated and supple lips.

Here are the swatches of the four lipsticks and lets talk about the shades.

Type A is a pinkish, strawberry red which will compliment any skin tone. Its subtle hint of red with pinkish undertone makes this shade very versatile.

Stir the Pot is a bright purple shade extremely matte to its core. Its brilliant vivid color that will stand out and its worth including in your collection. I am a huge fan of bright lipsticks, sometimes I like to put them just to make a statement.

Tunnel Vision is fuchsia or hot pink which is one of my favorite shades. However I don't wear the Reds often but still I like to have them in my collection. Its super matte texture is a bit chalky than the other shades in the collection. I have to swipe a few times to get the color transferred to my skin as if it dried out. But with little pressure I was able to swatch it.

Breadwinner is a winning shade without any doubt. It lives up to its name with its true red color like a Goddess of Matte. The formula is highly pigmented yet doesn’t stain the surface. It's a keeper!

Now let's take a look at how they will actually look on your lips. I feel the formula is a bit drying but it's super matte so I expect it to be. It's best applied on supple and hydrated lips.

So in conclusion, I really like the color pigmentation and the smudge-proof formula and I also realized that not all shades are similar in terms of formula and texture. Some are more matte and chalky than the others. Specifically the Stir the Pot is a beautiful intense color however its bit chalky and it is very drying to my lips. All the other shades are very good. The pro about these lippies is that they are extremely pigmented but do not stain your lips. So overall it's worth trying out.
